A Journey from Lullabies to Chlidren’s Books

When I look back on the reasons that led me to writing children’s books, the memory trail takes me to the many quiet nights spent rocking my children to sleep. As a mother of three (mostly) wonderful boys, my life has been filled with moments of profound joy, deep love, and a fair share of challenges. These experiences have become the bedrock of my writing journey, a journey that started in the most unexpected way: through lullabies.

My love for music has always been a significant part of who I am. Music has this magical ability to connect, heal, and inspire, and it has always been a constant companion in my life. I enjoy songwriting, and it was during those serene moments of rocking my babies to sleep that the first seeds of my writing were sown. Holding my sons close, feeling their little hearts beat in sync with mine, I would start to hum a tune. The words would flow naturally, almost as if they were already nestled somewhere deep within my heart, waiting to be discovered.

My husband, with his guitar, would often join in, and together, we created an atmosphere of love and comfort for our boys. Those moments were pure magic, and they ignited a spark within me—a spark that would eventually lead me to the world of writing.

As my children grew, so did my passion for storytelling. The lullabies evolved into bedtime stories, filled with adventures that would make my sons’ eyes light up with wonder. I found immense joy in weaving tales that not only entertained but also imparted valuable lessons. Seeing the impact that these stories had on my boys made me realize the power of words and their ability to shape young minds.

Becoming an author was not a decision made overnight. It was a culmination of years spent nurturing a love for storytelling, coupled with a deep-seated belief in the transformative power of music and lyrics. I wanted to create stories that resonated, that offered solace and inspiration, much like the lullabies I had sung to my sons.

Thank you for joining me on this journey. I look forward to sharing many more stories with you, each one crafted with love.
